I want so badly to give Sweet Stuff a good Review, however, I really can't. You see, my phone broke in a car accident about a week before my wedding. I ordered a phone through Apple but it took a little while to get here. I had already paid for a fountain and columns on my wedding cake. additionally, I had already confirmed flavors etc. with the bakery. The owner, I believe her name is Kathy and I had been emailing back-and-forth. So, about 5 days out she tells me that if I don't CALL and confirm the columns,fountain and flavors of my wedding cake that I will get a simple plain white cake with no columns, no fountain, no raspberry filling and plain Decor. Mind you, like I said I've already paid extra for the fountain, the columns and the raspberry filling (filling on one tier of the cake). Desperate I had a friend call on my behalf to confirm the aforementioned arrangements. The friend confused layer and tier so my cake was delivered with three tiers layered in chocolate, plain white cake and white chocolate cake with raspberry filling instead of one tear chocolate one tear white and one tear white chocolate with raspberry filling as Kathy and I had discussed via email and in person when I paid for the cake. I explain to her via email that my phone was broken and that nothing needed changed but instead she insisted that the arrangements be confirmed via telephone so my wedding cake was delivered wrong and messed up because Kathy couldn't just go with the original details and details that I was confirming to her in real time via email. because she just had to have a phone call my wedding cake was ruined. That's why I gave Kathy and sweet stuff bakery two stars. The cakes are beautiful and taste good however she ruined my wedding cake because she had to have a phone call when my phone was broken and couldn't or wouldn't accept an email, something in writing much more concrete than a phone call. I'm in law school right now and trust me emails are a lot more valid than phone calls! So thanks Kathy! I served a clashing "suicide" flavored cake at my wedding! Don't worry. My husband, my parents and I apologized to all 150 guests on your behalf.
I went here for a cake testing for my upcoming wedding and the staff was amazing and the cakes were delicious. Definitely top of our list on choices. I would definitely come here for many sweets.
Excellent, friendly and professional staff. Are able to design and build custom cakes. However, I came here to get a cake for my daughter that I had seen someone else get from here. When the lady quoted me the price, I was floored. I appreciate small businesses, professional services and prefer to buy local but I wasn't expecting $80 for a cake. I'm sure it's a good cake but I was unable to find the value.
I didn't call and make a big crazy scene because that's just not me. I don't want my money back obviously I can't get another wedding cake for another wedding.I simply don't want this to happen to another couple on their wedding day. Caveat emptor--- Buyer beware
So I called Sweet Stuff on a Thursday to order a special Toy Story themed cake for my three year old sons birthday, the woman I spoke with on the phone said it wasn't a problem I just needed to give them a deposit. We agreed I would call the very next day (Friday) to pay them over the phone. SO I call on Friday expecting to give them my payment and am told by a different lady that they have too many orders and will not make the cake I already ordered the previous day. To say the least I'm furious with them because now there isn't enough time for me to order the cake anywhere else. ALSO, this was my first time ever ordering a cake from them.
