Our family experienced an emergency on February 27th to which the officers responded in an efficient, professional AND compassionate manner. We greatly appreciate their exemplary service. God bless you all.

It seems very well organized and they were quick and helpful.

My experience with the New Albany Indiana Police Department started on Thursday of last week and ended today. My son's ex-girlfriend had taken his car a year ago and refused to return it. After numerous failed attempts to get her to return it, we discovered that she had been arrested in New Albany and that they had impounded his car. After speaking to one of the most helpful employees of the department by the name of Heather K. we were able to go today and retrieve the vehicle. She and a fellow officer (so sorry I didn't get his name) made sure that we had no difficulties and were very courteous and professional. I was very impressed and am very appreciative. Thank you Heather

I recently was pulled over for no headlights after sunset due to a fault in my antique car's headlights. The officer was professional and diligent in his demeanor. Fortunately, the car's battery was able to charge while the officer was checking my license and registration. With the observation that the headlights were working properly, the officer let me proceed without citation.

I live in Ohio but work in New Albany for Asplundh Tree Experts. I was on my way to Wal-Mart one day after work (Thursday) and was pulled over because of a small crack in my windshield. To make it quick, my vehicle was impounded. The officer told me i could come get my car the next day, (Friday), between 8 and 4 o'clock. I had court that following Monday in Ohio so i really needed my car back. Friday i left work at noon to go retrieve my car and called the Police Dept about 2:40 to ask if i have to stop at the Police Station before going to the Impound. I was told they stopped releasing vehicles at 2 and that i would have to wait until Monday. I explained that i had court Monday at 11 am. And if i didnt show up to my hearing, i would have a warrant out for my arrest. The Police Department of New Albany told me uncaringly that i could do NOTHING but wait until Monday morning because nobody could release my vehicle. So now instead of paying the $40 tow bill, ill have to pay the $40 plus a weekend of daily storage charges too. The New Albany, IN police are horrible people in my opinion. And the bad part was, i was on my way to get groceries for my hotel room and i wasnt speeding, swerving, driving drunk, carrying illegal drugs, all lights worked, and wasnt driving in ANY WRONG MANNER. Just because of a small hairline crack in my windshield, it costed me all this money and stacked on more problems. My advice, vacation or visit some other small town.
